Software Developer Specializing in Full-Stack Web Applications
I have the most experience in web development, and take pride in bringing beautiful web applications to life.
Whether it's building Windows applications or designing databases, my wide range of skills can be used across the software development landscape.
I began my post-high school journey pursuing music education. An avid musician to this day, music seemed the natural career path for me to take. I graduated from UW-La Crosse with a degree in music education and trumpet performance. From there, I decided to continue my education as a professional musician. I was accepted to the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where I earned a Master's degree in Orchestral Trumpet.
While in graduate school, I began to dabble in HTML. Nothing serious, just a little something to possibly do on the side. I always had an interest in computers, but never seriously gave it a fair shot. Time passed and I found work as a private music instructor, freelance musician, and public school teacher. I continued to work on the basics of web development and ultimately decided to make a career out of it.
I left my teaching job and began a degree program in software development. I saw in my learning a chance to start anew in an exciting and growing field. I liked the daily challenges, problem-solving, and the notion that I can build pretty much anything with the right tools and creativity. I woke up every day excited to learn new concepts, build something no one had ever built before, and execute ideas that I had the night before.
I feel that my extensive experience in music assists in my understanding of abstract concepts and in being able to overcome large obstacles. My experience in teaching demonstrates patience, organizational skills, leadership skills, and time management skills. I am intrinsically motivated and have high standards for my work. My aim is to bring these skills and qualities to every project I work on and provide elegant solutions to complex problems.
